What are your Rumblr editors reading this week? Well…
Molly: I have returned to, and am slowly working my way through, James Frazer’s Golden Bough. Right now he is talking a lot about corn dogs and then cocks and I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t giggling a little bit.
Claire: I’m reading and loving Agua Viva by Clarice Lispector. She’s such a weird genius, she’s such a weird hippie! Right now she is talking about the genders and personalities of different kinds of flowers (angelica is dangerous, jasmine is for lovers, bird-of-paradise is “pure masculinity”). It is a good book for dipping in and out of, but also a good book for losing yourself in, and also just the exact book I’ve been needing.
Jen: I’ve mostly been reading articles all week. I’ve been treating myself to a few poems from Melissa Broder’s Scarecrone (perfect title) at night before zonking out and they are glorious.
