In honor of Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday, friend of The Sensible Nonsense Project Jason Crane shared with us his mash-up of Green Eggs and Ham and Thelonius Monk’s “Blue Monk.” Fantastic.

  2. "Dr. Seuss wrote The Cat in the Hat with only 236 different words, so his editor bet him he couldn’t write a book with only 50 different words. Dr. Seuss came back and won the bet with Green Eggs and Ham, one of the bestselling children’s books of all time … Creativity isn’t just the things we choose to put in, it’s the things we choose to leave out."

I loved Dr. Seuss’ animated film, The Lorax, when I was a child. Let’s hope the 3D remake is just as good!

“Taylor Swift, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Rob Riggle and Betty White will provide the principal voices for The Lorax, the Illumination Entertainment 3D CGI animated film. The pic is based on the Dr. Seuss tale that follows the tale of a forest creature who shared the enduring power of hope.”

Really hope they don’t screw this one up.
